Wigan Await Baines Bids

Newcastle are preparing a bid to prise Latics star Leighton Baines away from the JJB.

With other clubs interested this could spark a bidding war with the only outcome being a move away from Wigan for the talented left back.

Although happy at the Latics, Baines was one of the players who were left shocked by Jewells resignation and he must feel that he needs to be plying his trade at a 'bigger` more glamorous club if he is to get the international recognition he deserves.

So expect the bidding to start at £5 million, although it would be expected to take a bid of around £7 million to capture the signature of one of the best left backs in the Premiership.
