Wigan Chase Levante Star

Spanish side Levante midfielder and Ghana international Riga Mustapha is attracting interest from a number of clubs including the Latics

Latics scouts were in attendance on Sunday when two goals from Mustapha helped to earn his team a 3-2 victory at Racing Santander.

In two seasons 25 year old midfielder Mustapha has played 38 games scoring 11 goals for the Spanish club, whom he joined on a free transfer from Sparta Rotterdam where he had a prolific two seasons scoring 36 goals.

Mustapha stated "I cannot deny that I would like to play in England.

'One of my dreams as a footballer was to be in the Premier, I could have gone before I joined Levante but I thought it was best to come to Spain.

'Now after two years here, I have fulfilled the objectives that I gave myself and now I would like to play in England.'

Mustapha has two-years left on his contract, but he hopes Levante will not stand in his way.

'I came for free to Levante and I believe I have proved myself as they expected,' he continued.

'Now the offers have arrived and they will duplicate my pay and I just believe this is the best things, especially for a player who cost nothing.'

Meanwhile Levante president, Pedro Villarroel, has slapped a £3.5 million asking price on their star man
