Star, Sky and Hutch

Whatever your thoughts on the appointment of Chris Hutchings as manager of Wigan Athletic now is the time to get behind the man and give him support.

He starts the job at full throttle, putting a squad together in readiness for pre-season, building a team that can hopefully avoid last season relegation fight and get us into mid-table mediocre.

Hutch as already started to do things his way by releasing DeZeeuw and Unsworth, two players that Jewell was considering keeping at the club and David Lee from the back room staff was shown the exit door.

The type of player that he targets and brings to the JJB will give fans a sense of what the man is about.

There is no doubt that some of last seasons buys left a lot to be desired, rumour has it that Jewell and Hutchings fell out over signings, this could be a good sign, we will see.

A short reign as manager of Bradford City is Hutch`s only previous experience and that ended in disaster, lets pray that he`s learned from that and can take us forward.

There are many rumours around about who will be coming to the club, not too many star names mentioned though.

One vacancy that does need filling soon is the job of assistant; again rumour has given names, one being our old friend John Benson.

Let`s hope not.

We need a STAR, someone who can lead on the park. The team must reach for the SKY; hopefully this will stop us falling through the floor and let`s pray that HUTCH is indeed the man to manage us to a good season.

Let`s hope that we find our Star, Sky and Hutch and don`t end up being the Keystone Cops

It's early days and time will tell if Hutch is the right man for the job, or if he really is in charge and not just a front for Benson, heaven forbid!
