Wigan Latics Saturday Round Up
The past week has been quite a busy one on the transfer speculation front
The start of the week saw rumours about Leighton Baines`s impending departure to pastures new.
Newcastle appear to be the front runners, but there is also reported interest from a host of other clubs including Everton and Manchester United.
With West Brom failing to get promoted through the play-offs it was inevitable that Nathan 'Duke` Ellington would once again be linked with a return to the JJB.
Tony Finnigan, Ellington`s advisor was quoted as saying 'I'm sure Nathan would really welcome a return to Wigan.'
Next up we had reports of Levante star Riga Mustapha turning in a match winning display whilst being scouted by the Latics
According to the Daily Mirror (Saturday) Hutchings heads a group of Premiership managers hoping to get Mustapha signed.
Perhaps the scoop of the week for us here at Vital Wigan was the impending signing of Titus Bramble.
With Premiership clubs chasing Bramble`s signature, notably Birmingham and Portsmouth, the Latics appear to have jumped the queue.
Sky Sports News, The Daily Mirror and The Daily Mail all reporting today (Saturday) that Bramble will sign on Monday and become Hutchings first capture as manager of Wigan Athletic.
