Ex-Chelsea Star set for Wigan

Ex-Chelsea Star set for Wigan

Mario Melchiot was in town today having a medical at the JJB

According to reports coming out of the club there is a two year contract on the table, Melchiot wanted a three year deal, but, he is expected to sign before the weekend.

Melchiot has just returned to the Holland national squad following a good season in France with Rennes.

The versatile defender, who is 30, would bring good experience to the Latics squad.

Would Melchiot be a good signing for us?

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
