Three More Signings at Wigan

The Latics are expecting to make another three signings before the start of the new season on August 11th.

With a bid already turned down by West Brom for Jason Koumas it`s understood that Hutchings has tabled an increased offer for the player.

West Brom are not any easy club to deal with in the transfer market as the Latics have found out with their attempts to re-sign former striker Nathan Ellington.

The Baggies chairman, Jeremy Peace, puts out a figure and sticks to it; he`s shown this before with Ellington, Davies and now Koumas.

If the Latics are to sign the Welsh midfielder then it is expected that they will need to pay the 6 million asking fee.

Is Jason Koumas worth 6 million, I don`t think so, he nearly joined Cardiff for 1 million last summer, that`s a high rate of inflation in 12 months.

Plus the last time he was in the Premiership, with West Brom, he didn`t exactly set the world on fire, admittedly playing in a very weak team.

I'd have thought we would have needed to bring in at least another 6 with the possibility of some more leaving and others not good enough

So, what do you make of the new signings? And what, can I ask, do you think of Chris Hutchins (there was us at Rotherham thinking he might be heading back to Millmoor last season!!!)
