Baines and U21`s in Semi`s

Latics left back Leighton Baines played his part in the England under 21 win against Serbia tonight.

England opened the scoring through a 'poachers` header from Reading striker Leroy Lita.

Matt Derbyshire made the score two nil in controversial circumstances.

A Serbian player was down injured but the Blackburn Rovers star played on and cracked the ball into the net.

What followed was disgraceful as the Serbian players charged at Derbyshire and a mighty commotion took place.

Strangely enough only two players were booked one being James Milner who was obviously trying to calm the situation down.

Tom Huddleston was sent off for abusive language to the assistant referee following a foul by Baines.

From the resultant free kick Bainesy cleared the ball off the line ensuring a clean sheet and progression to a semi final match against host nation Holland.

Well played Bainesy and well done to England

England in a semi final, come on!
worbo
This means we'll lose on penalties :) LOL, I hope not though!
It wasn't the best of games was it dude but we got the job done. Leroy Lita's goal was superb as he did VERY well to get to it didn't he. What can I say about Matt Derbyshire (EVERYONE on Vital Blackburn knows I LOVE the kid!!!) a cracking young talent. The goal was controversial wasn't it, but I bet Serbia not have played on (then we would be moaning LOL!) The aftermath though was a disgrace (I used the same word as you in my article on this dude "disgraceful" as it was) It carried on after the game as well didn't it with Derbs spat at and players racially abused in the tunnel. The Serb crowd was also being racist weren't they during the game!
Main thing, we are through COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Agree Derbyshire is superb, very intelligent player for a young un, looks in the Kenny Dalgliesh mould. Hope we play well against the Dutch, What was Huddleston sent off for?

Off Topic, but how it Vital Wigan going?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Think it was something he said the the referee or linesman (oops I means referees assistant LOL!) I liken Derbs to Gary Lineker, think he has his preditory instincts.
The Dutch will be tough won't they dude (favourties for the tournament aren't they?!?! Which surprises me.) But if we play liek we can then we have a shot, could be Serbia again in the Final!!!
Hughes Da Man
If we get to the final we could play the Serb's again. That would be interesting!
