Wigan Make Bid For Fulham`s Brown

The Daily Mirror reports that the Latics have placed a £2.5 million bid for Fulham and former Spurs and Sheffield United midfielder Michael Brown.

It is well known that manager Chris Hutchings wants to make the team his own

He is ringing the changes down at the JJB and is reported to be bringing in another five players.

Brown is a hard tackling all action midfielder and would fit into the Latics team nicely giving the side some bite.

Hartlepool born Brown began his career at Manchester City and had loan spells at Hartlepool United and Sheffield United before signing for the Blades on a permanent deal.

He left Sheffield for Tottenham Hotspur and then moved across London to Fulham in January 2006.

The 29 year old is said to want a move back North for family reasons and he could be at the JJB before the end of the week.

Would Michael Brown make a good addition to the Latics squad?

Brown would be a good signing but we'd need to start using our midfield!

Being a spurs fan and an admirer of Wigan, I believe that signing Michael Brown would be an excellent move. He is a tough, nuggety and gutsy player who is not afraid of getting stuck in and mixing it up with the best of them. I loved him when he played for tottenham, if we had a couple more players of his character and attitude, we would be a better side.
