Sunderland Increase Baines Bid

According to The Daily Mirror and other sources Roy Keane as come back with a £5 million bid for Leighton Baines.

Latics boss Chris Hutchings as stated that he does not want Bainesy to leave, in fact it`s speculated that he could be offered the captaincy, but he also said that every player has their price

The big question must be, why would Bainesy leave Latics for Sunderland?

There`s been lots of reported interest so far this summer in Baines and a move to one of the big clubs always seemed likely

Recently though Leighton said that he does not want to go anywhere at the moment and he loves life at the JJB

To be honest I feel that it will take a lot more than £5 million to prise Baines away from the Latics considering that Spurs paid Southampton £10 million for Gareth Bale

What do you think about £5 million for Baines?

Double the amount to test us and then come back with more. Baines must be worth at least £12 mil in todays market

Think if they doubled the offer to £10M you'd have to consider it, but doubt Sunderland could afford to? Plus it's hardly like you need the money is it!
Blade1889
worth every penny

Im sure if it was everton or newcastle making these offers i'd be more worried because bainesy would at least be willing to talk, but sunderland! come on, he#ll be a latics player for at least another season

Baines is undoubted quality. Worth at least £10m in today's money!

5million is about right. what makes him worth double that for petes sake?
Dales_Dad
nothin, but when you start looking at the crazy prices of other players then it does inflate his value, gareth bale 10 mil! untried and untested in prem i think not. 6 mil for nugent, no way, he didnt reach 20 goals in championship
