The injury problems at Wigan Athletic seem to be showing signs of easing with Alan Mahon returning to full training after a long lay-off . Josip Skoko and Lee McCulloch have both shaken off injuries sustained in the Leeds United and West Brom matches respectively and are training although McCulloch still has a sore groin.
On top of that, new signings Neil Mellor and David Thompson have been added to the squad so there should be less need to risk players who are not fully fit.
Ryan Taylor is the only long-term injury with David Connolly, David Wright, Stephen McMillan and Emerson Thome all having, hopefully, less serious problems.
