Wigan turn down Sunderland bid

Wigan turn down Sunderland bid

It`s widely reported that the Latics have knocked back a fresh approach for Leighton Baines from Premiership new boys Sunderland

The Stadium of Light club seem determined to test Chris Hutchings resolve with repeated bids for the England under 21 International

Hutch commented that Bainesy is very much part of his Latics revolution and he has told Sunderland boss Roy Keane that Baines is not for sale

Excitement is a buzz word amongst Latics fans at the moment with all the transfer activity and we can look forward to the new season with optimism.

Bainesy is happy at the Latics at the moment so why sell him? We dont need the money and it would take an awful lot more than the £4 million offered to replace him

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
