Having three quality keepers is good news for the Latics

Chris Kirkland, Mike Pollitt and Carlo Nash are all players who can perform at the highest level

Kirkland`s injuries that he suffered at the end of last season have now cleared up and he is back in pre-season training

Pollitt has just signed a new one year contract and Nash is a recent capture from Preston North End.

With Kirkland being an international the other two may feel that they face playing understudy.

Not so according to manager of the Latics Chris Hutchings who has declared that the man in form will hold down the shirt

This gives hope to both Pollitt and Nash and they will be trying to impress Hutch both in training and during the pre-season friendlies

In reality it will be a big task to shift an injury free Kirkland from his number 1 position for the Latics.

If Kirkland is injury free I cant see him not playing, though we all know how good Pollitt can be
