Wigan Star signs for Aalborg

Andreas Johansson as joined Danish club Aalborg on a three year deal

Aalborg finished last season 3rd in the Superliga, the Danish top division, and they take Johansson on a free transfer following the termination of his contract by the Latics

The club was formed by English engineers in 1885

During the 1990`s the club won two Danish Superliga titles and qualified the Uefa Champions League

The clubs stadium has a capacity of 16,000 and all sides are covered

Aalborg is the fourth largest city in Denmark with a population of 121,000 and the city is twinned with Lancaster

Johansson said he was delighted to be signing for the Danish club and it would give him the chance to get his career back on tracks

Reflecting on his time at the Latics crazy AJ said that he felt he hadn`t been given a fair chance, but that he`d enjoyed his time in England and would like to thank the fans for their support for him.

Here at Vital Wigan we wish AJ all the best on his new Scandinavian adventure and thank him for bringing his girlfriend over to England for us all to drool over
