Sunderland hope for Baines talks?

Sunderland hope for Baines talks?

The Mirror are reporting that Sunderland are making a fresh £6 million bid for Leighton Baines

They even call Baines, Latics 'skipper`, and go on to say that Keane is hoping to talk to Bainesy today

This must be just paper speculation

With the Latics squad only arriving back in England today from their Dutch trip, Bainesy will surely not be rushing up to the North East to speak to Keane

Why would Baines join Sunderland?

Bigger stadium, that`s it, no other reason

The Latics have the better squad with a better chance of success this season than Sunderland, who, forgetting all the euphoria surrounding Keane, are almost relegation certainties

Wigan will be able to pay better wages than Sunderland being the MORE established Premiership club and Baines is in familiar surroundings, which by his own admission, he loves.

I`d be very surprised to see Bainesy go to the North East unless it was Newcastle and I doubt that he would go there.

Paper talk or Keane mischief?
