The Daily Mirror reports that Everton are trying to hijack Sunderland`s bid for Leighton Baines and are actually offering LESS to the Latics for the player
David Moyes is reported to have bid £4.5 million and he wants to pay it in instalments.
You gotta laugh!
At least Sunderland made what can be considered an appropriate bid of £6.5 million for the best un-capped left back in the country.
The paper claims that Everton will get Bainesy for the offered price because he is an Everton fan.
What are they talking about?
For a start Bainesy is a Liverpool fan, also does that mean if Wayne Rooney was a Latics fan we could offer Manchester United 30% less than his value and we`d get him, no chance
Either the Mirror or David Moyes need to get real on this one
At Vital Wigan we`ve realised all along that Bainesy was using Sunderland to let other clubs know he wanted to move, but they must still meet the asking price.
Everton are an attractive option to Baines, no doubting, they are in Europe and have a passionate support and long history of success
He must feel that a move to Goodison Park would enhance his career and give the chance to make the full England squad
But I`m sure that Dave Whelan will have laughed this one all the way back to Bill Kenwright with the advice that the pantomime season is over, come back when you are serious
