Blackpool 1 -2 Latics

Our roving reprter baskerville gives his opinion on a night at the seaside

Back four ....looked confortable all night even Killer although he is so casual with his pasisng he is going to put us unser pressure agaisnt better teams.

Midfeld ...so so ok on the wings , bit iffy in the centre

Up front ... needs attention immeadately

Player by plsyer

Pollitt... didnt have much to do except catch a few high balls and pick the ball out of the net 6/10

Melchiot ... a class act very confortable onn the ball, quick and didn't shirk any tackles 8/10

Killer ... as usual 5/10

Granqvist ... played well should have had a penalty agaisnt him but was strong in the air tried to be too clever with Bramble and cost us the goal 6/10

Bramble.. looked confident and self assured untilt he cock up with Granqvist 6/10

Koumas ... rasping free kick whoch was close to going in, some noce touches but didnt see as much of the ball as Cottrill 6/10

Cottrill.. good goal and some good runs but loses the ball too easily 6/10

Valencia ... same as Cottrill 6/10

Scharner ... not a midfielder looks lost and was poor going forwards, doesnt make enough tackles to justify a midfield place
5/10

Aghahowa... I'm sorry but this bloke is not a premiership player in my opinion, looks lost when in position and is easily knocked off the ball.

Doesn't lack effort but wasted a good chance when he hit the bar when it looked easier to score , doesn't look like we will see his celebration in the near future 4/10

Heskey... lots of effort, got booked but had little quality supply. One shot hit hte corner flag 6/10

Subs

Baines... showed the differnece between him and Killer, linked up well on the left put a few good crosses over in his limited time on the pitch 6/10

Boyce... Just class 6/10

Hall ... did nothing wrong 5/10

Folan... ran hard when he came on looked sharper than Aghahowa .... 5/10

All in all a good work out.

No sign of Camara anywhere but dont know whether this is significant
