Brunt link to Latics again

Our friends over at Vital Sheff Wed speculate that Chris Brunt could again be a target for the Latics

They report that talks over renewing Brunt`s contract have broken down to the point where Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has ceased negotiations with the Northern Ireland international

Earlier last month Latics were heavily tipped to sign Brunt but interest cooled when the Hillsborough club began negotiating a new contract for the 22 year old

With West Ham, Aston Villa and Fulham also reported to be eyeing up the left winger who has only 1 year remaining on his contract, Sheffield Wednesday might decide to cash in

Seems like the Owls have a situation not too dissimilar to the one we have with Bainesy

A player they want to tie down to a long contract but they know his value will only fall during the last year of his current deal.
