Wigan Athletic Ask the Fan Pt 5

Wigan Athletic Ask the Fan Pt 5

As part of the run in to the new season Vital Wigan talks to the Latics fans

The fith interview in the series is with Vital Wigan regular adamg lets see what he says

1 - How long have you been following Latics and what got you started?

Always wanted to go to football matches as a kid but could never afford the big guns so went along to Wigan vs. Preston in the cup first round in 96 and was hooked - been a fanatic ever since

2 - What is your most memorable moment as a Latics fan? Good or Bad.

Three promotions! But personally my most memorable is when I was mascot against Blackpool in 98. We won 3-0 so I must have been a 'lucky mascot' - got my mug shot on the back of the programme too!

3 - Since you have been following Latics what would your Best Eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

1. John Filan
2. Pascal Chimbonda
3. Arry DeZeeuw
4. Colin Greenall
5. Leighton Baines
6. Roberto Martinez
7. Andrew Liddell
8. Jimmy Bullard
9. The Duke
10. Stuart Barlow
11. David Lee
Fav player?
Sir Andrew Liddell

4 - What would you say is the best goal you have seen Latics score?

Too many to choose from! Recently we've had some stunners- Henri vs. Sunderland, Landzaat vs. Arsenal, Jimmy B at home to Arsenal and Villa year before last.

Fav is probably Leighton`s first against Ipswich - pure genius!

5 - Best away ground visited?
Millennium stadium and Old Trafford stick out as top class

6 - What are your expectations for the new season?

At present mid-low table, with a few more quality signings make that comfortable mid-table - 10/11th

7- Are you pleased with the new signings made so far and is there any other player you would have liked to have seen us sign (realistically)?.

So far good - especially Koumas - but we need a few more. Would have liked Harewood and brown - the perfect catch would have been a goal scorer like Lita or Nugent, but hopefully hutch will surprise us with a few more

8 - What are your thoughts on how last season ended and how did it compare to your expectations?

Last year ended like a cup final - was fantastic and I`m glad it happened like it did but the slow demise from the new year was depressing, I was starting to dread Saturday afternoons and another defeat! i expected us to be home and dry with a few games to go this year!!!

9 -Despite the new signings, are there any areas in the side you think need adding to?

Goal scorer and a tough tackling midfielder are essential

10 - Where do you sit at JJB?
