Everton and Newcastle Bid for Baines

Sky Sports are reporting that Wigan Athletic have accepted bids from both Everton and Newcastle United for Leighton Baines

It is understood that Baines will meet with both clubs over the weekend, although Baines has already been to Goodison Park, to decide where his future lies

Sunderland offered £6.5 million for the young left back and Chris Hutchings has said that is the figure needed to tempt the Latics to sell

A lot of news outlets are incorrectly reporting that Baines would move to Everton because he is an Everton supporter, he is in fact a Liverpool fan and used to stand in the Kop as a youngster

Where Bainesy will end up is becoming a little tiresome and more pressing for Latics fans is who will be brought in to replace him with the opening fixture just 7 days away

The need for Chris Hutchings to sign a left back is paramount and with Kevin Kilbane currently occupying the role Hutch needs to act fast

Sick of the Baines saga?
