Baines to Everton for £5 million

Wigan Athletic official web site has announced that Leighton Baines today signed for Everton in a deal worth £5 million to the Latics

What happened to not a penny less than the Sunderland bid?

To sell your only left back 5 days before the start of the season seems crazy, to sell him to the club you are due to face on that day seems crazier still and to sell him for a cut price £5 million is idiotic

Chris Hutchings is now left with the choice of playing Kevin Kilbane at left back or hoping that he can bring someone in this week, lets hope he brings someone in

People have said that Killer Kilbane has done well at left back preseason, I hope he as with the opposition he`s faced!

What we cant do is play a left sided attacking midfield player in such a crucial role against Premiership teams or we`ll be slaughtered

Well Baines`s gone and that`s the end of that little transfer saga

Goodbye Bainesy
worbo
apparently the deal includes a decent sell on clause 'incase united come sniffing around'. Everton aren't a selling club anymore however, so whether thats necessary I'm not sure, either way, if Baines does move on after Everton, we'll both get a hefty fee. I honestly believe he'll be fighting Cole and Bridge soon for the left back berth in the full england team.
