With the new season upon us Vital Wigan thought they would investigate what some of our past players are up to with their current clubs
Jimmy Bullard was sold to Fulham at the end of the 2005/06 season
Unfortunately Jimmy suffered a serious knee injury in September last year and missed the rest of the season
Bullard is now back in training and raring to get his career back on track and he is expected to be back in first team action at Fulham by October at the latest, best wishes Jimmy
Arry DeZeeuw was released by the Latics at the end of last season and but got himself fixed up with a contract at Coventry City where he was named club captain.
Arry suffered a knee injury in training and is expected to be out of action till September.
Life in the Championship might be a bit easier on Arry`s old bones and he could enjoy his swansong with the Sky Blues
Matt Jackson like DeZeeuw was released at the end of last season and signed for Watford
Jacko is a model pro and will always give his best where ever he goes, with Jackson in their defence Watford should enjoy a good season as they adapt to life back in the Championship
Andy Liddell left Latics for Sheffield United in 2004 and then moved on to Oldham Athletic, where last season he helped the 'other` Latics get into the League one play-offs, unfortunately they were knocked out in the semi-final by Blackpool
Mike Flynn recently signed for Blackpool from Gillingham (where he was club captain)
Flynny`s infectious character will help Blackpool in their quest to survive in the Championship
David Graham moved onto Gillingham from Sheffield Wednesday where he suffered a nightmare time.
Graham never quite lived up to his potential, lets hope a change of clubs and divisions helps get his career back on track
Gary Teale is back in the Premiership with Derby County having signed for them in January
Lets hope that Tealey has a torrid time against the Latics but best wishes go to him for the rest of the season
Derek Stillie is trying his hand down south once more, this time with Gillingham
The former Latics keeper signed for the Gills from Scottish club Dundee United
Roberto Martinez now manages Swansea City in league one and is assisted by former Latics man Graeme Jones
Together they are preparing the Swansea team for a crack at promotion this season.
Martinez has made several close season signing including the fascinatingly named Angel Rangel
Nigel Adkins took over the reigns at Scunthorpe United last season and they ended up Champions of League one
Though he has lost his main striker Billy Sharp, Adkins still believes that the Irons can avoid relegation, best wishes Nige
Is there any former players that you know of who are still involved in the game, let us have your thoughts on them
