Latics Speyk to Vital Sunderland

Saturday sees Roy Keane bring his Sunderland side to the JJB for what promises to be a tasty fixture

In the run up to the game I managed to speak to Vital Sunderland editor Kev 'H` and asked him a few questions about Sunderland, the Latics and Saturday`s result, lets see what he had to say

How long have you been a Sunderland supporter Kev?

I have been a Sunderland supporter for 29 years; yes I was there when we were crap.

Are you pleased to be back in the Prem?

Yes if nothing else than to watch the northeast derbies against the scum (Newcastle) and the smoggies (Middlesbrough).

Saying that it is nice to see the team test themselves too against the big boys.

How's life under Roy Keane?

Roy Keane is mint. Quinn and Keane have turned the club around.

How are Kav and Connolly doing?

Connolly is a good striker but I think he is more suited to the Championship.

Kavanagh is a quality midfield but he has dropped down the pecking order due to injuries last season.

Are you happy with your summer signings?

Yes we have made some very good signings Michael Chopra is on fire and Paul McShane is solid at the back.

Who should the Latics fans watch out for in the Sunderland team?

I would have said Carlos Edwards but it looks as if he is injured for Saturday.

I will have to say Paul McShane and Nyron Nosworthy they have been class in defence so far this season.

How do you feel Sunderland will do this season?

Mid table. I don`t think we will be fighting Relegation

How do feel the Latics will do this season?

Mid table in the league, but could put together a good cup run.

If you had to pick one of the current Latics players to be in your squad who would it be and why?

Jason Koumas.

He is a quality midfielder, he is a very creative player who has an eye for goal. I think he would be a good addition to our squad.

Who do you think will finish in the top 4 and bottom 3 this season?

Top 4 Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City

Bottom 3 Middlesbrough, Bolton, Derby.

Prediction for Latics v Sunderland ?

1-1 Draw

Thanks for that Kev, and the best of luck to Sunderland, after Saturday of course.

Kev's feeling a little optimistic hoping for a 1-1 draw, 3-0 to the Latics, this will be Sunderlands first real test of the season
