Latics Eye Edman

It is reported that Latics are trying to sign former Spurs left back Erik Edman from French club Rennes

Mario Melchiot has recommended his former defensive partner Edman to manager Chris Hutchings to be the player to fill the vacant left back spot following the departure of Leighton Baines to Everton

Edman was with Tottenham Hotspur for a year back in 2004 and played 31 games scoring once, a wonder goal against Liverpool

The 28 year old also has 48 international caps for Sweden
