Wigan move on Placente

Wigan move on Placente

Wigan Athletic are once again linked with a move for Celta Vigo left back Diego Placente

This story was first broke on Vital Wigan back at the begining of August

Chris Hutchings is expecting to hold talks with the Argentina international tomorrow about the possibility of filling the vacant position left by Leighton Baines

Placente was recently linked with a move to Rangers but nothing came of this and he remains a Celta Vigo player

The Argentinean joined the Spanish club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2005 where he had enjoyed 4 years and played 133 times for the German club

He chose Celta Vigo over Everton who he could have joined at the time, because he felt they offered a better chance to be successful

Placente, who is 30, started his career of at Argentinos Juniors before moving onto River Plate and then from there to Leverkusen

Latics have also been linked with ex-Spurs left back Erik Edman
