Marcus Bent on Wigan

Wigan Athletic have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Charlton Athletic to bring forward Marcus Bent to the JJB on a season long loan

29 year old Bent joined the Addicks from Everton in January 2006 for 2.3 million despite interest from the Latics, but he`s only managed 4 goals in 44 appearances

The much travelled striker will make Latics his 10th club in a career that started back in 1995 at Brentford and was most prolific at Sheffield United scoring 20 goals in 48 games in 1999-2000

Following the signing of Jason Koumas, Marcus Bent becomes another player that Chris Hutchings has succeeded where Paul Jewell tried and failed to bring these players to the Latics

Is Bent the man to put some more fire power into the Latics attack?

Lazy and doesnt stop moaning. Dont be fooled that due to our poor service he hasnt scored the goals. Darren Bent managed fine in our poor side. You will send him back once the loan expires trust me.
