England Calling for Heskey

Wigan Athletic forward Emile Heskey received a well deserved call-up to the England squad for this week`s European Championship qualifiers against Israel and Russia

Heskey was watched in the Latics defeat at Newcastle yesterday by England manager Steve McClaren who said that the 29 year old striker has a lot of international experience (43 caps) and played many times with Michael Owen both at club and international level

McClaren went on to say that he spoken with Latics boss Chris Hutchings who said that he fully deserved his recall

This is a great honour both for the player and for Latics and if he plays Heskey will become the first Wigan Athletic player to play for England

Do you feel Heskey deserves his recall?

Well deserved by Heskey, he's been in red hot form this season

So how come he's got 0% in the poll?:)

Heskey has done nothing since the Green Mile.

Never been any good for England. What a backwards step this is!

If they actually play him up with Owen than he might do something but you have to remember that for most of his time playing for England he was stuck out on the left wing so I am looking forward to seeing him playing as a striker. It's up to him and he needs to make the most of it.
Dicksy
I'm sure Heskey will surprise a few people Dicksy
