Wigan Player of the Month

Wigan Player of the Month

Andreas Granqvist was voted the Latics player of August following a superb start to the season by the big Swede, he was some way ahead in the voting from second placed Antoine Sibierski

A cultured display from the central defender so far this season has helped to get Latics off to a good start, he plays like a young Arry DeZeeuw and he`s formed a good partnership along side Titus Bramble.

Granqvist and Bramble have settled well together, Andreas is cultured and can pass the ball around Titus is no nonsense, what an improvement on last season

What the poll asked - Player of the Month August

How you voted - Andreas Granqvist 55%, Antoine Sibierski 28%, Jason Koumas 5%, these were the top three

Current Poll - Heskey is back in the England fold and it feels like the club is finally being noticed.

Emile has been in superb form so far and he has international experience with 43 caps.

Not everyone appears pleased with Heskey`s recall and one such 'critic` Alan Hansen calls it a step backward, what the England team has got to do with a Scot I don`t know.

So with there being both those who are for and against the recall lets see what the public think - 'Should Heskey be back in the England squad?` Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
