Bolton to steal Wigans lost Jewell

The Manchester Evening News have revealed that there is nothing stopping former Wigan Athletic boss, Paul Jewell from becoming manager of near neighbours Bolton Wanderers

Jewell famously resigned at the JJB the day after the Latics secured their Premiership survival on the last day of last season with a win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane

No clause

It was hotly rumoured at the time that Jewell would become manager of Manchester City but it was also rumoured that Jewell had a clause in his contract that stopped him walking out on Latics for another club and there had to be at least a six month sabbatical

Well it would appear that there was no clause with Wigan chairman Dave Whelan telling the MEN that Jewell is free to take up the reigns at the Reebok or any other club for that matter and he would do so with his best wishes

Host of jobs

Jewell has been linked with a host of jobs over the last few months and most recently the vacant managers post at Norwich City and Bolton

Jewell does not appear to be Phil Garsides number 1 choice at the Reebok with Steve Bruce, Iain Dowie, George Burley and even Graeme Souness being mentioned before the former Wigan man

What ever Jewell does in the future good luck to him, but I for one would not be happy if he took over at the hillbillies

Would you be pleased if Jewell became boss of the Horwich lot?

I hope they dont get anyone over at Horwich, I hope they are going down, they are an awful club with awful supporters (if you can call them that)
