Hutch gets vote of confidence

Hutch gets vote of confidence

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan today gave manager Chris Hutchings his backing and support

Whelan told the Wigan Observer 'Im absolutely right behind Chris` but in typical vote of confidence style he went on to say 'We have to support Chris, but we have to have success as well`.

With three tough games coming up against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal its hard to see where that success is going to come from.

Hutch must be a worried man, his team seems to fire the self destruct button in the second half of games, typically on Saturday conceding in the last ten minutes to throw away the points after twice being in the lead

It is afar cry from the opening three games of the season when flowing football and a short spell at the summit of the Premiership promised so much that, sadly has not been delivered

Easy three points on Saturday, Chelsea will turn up expecting to roll us over, but they havent counted on the mighty Scharner man of steel!

Whelan's comment sounds like a vote of no confidence

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
