Whelan says thanks to Hutch

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan gave former manager Chris Hutchings a big thank you for all his hard work as Latics boss

Whelan said "The club wish to put on record their immense gratitude for Chris' efforts, in particular his contribution to the meteoric rise of Wigan Athletic over the past six and a half seasons.'

This is something that should not be forgotten and Hutch was as much a part of our climb through the leagues as was Paul Jewell

So along with Dave Whelan all here at Vital Wigan would like to thank Hutch for being part of the dream and wish him all the best for the future

cruel that he got the sack at an identical stage of the season as when he was boss of Bradford though!

It must be disappointing for Whelan to see Wigan below the yids in the league. Just unfortunate that CH was in the firing line
