Jol leads poll for Wigan job

Jol leads poll for Wigan job

Former Spurs boss Martin Jol is leading the fans poll for the next manager of Wigan Athletic on Vital Wigan by some way

The bookies favourite, former Rangers, Liverpool, Newcastle and Blackburn boss, Graeme Souness is down the pecking order in 3rd place

Some betting firms have suspended trade on Souness claiming it is a done deal and are expecting him to be unveiled next Monday after the weekend game at Tottenham

Who ever it is going to be they need to be given the reigns as soon as possible so that they can make a fair assessment of the playing staff at the JJB before the transfer window opens at the end of next month

To participate in the poll just click on your choice of manager and hit the submit button, it can be accessed on the right side of this page

There's no point discussing Jol, he won't be coming to Wigan.

Martin Jol would be a great asset to your club. If you succeed in getting him on board you will get to mid table at the least. He was only ousted at Spurs due to our inept board at Tottenham. Good luck in any case.

We have an inept board at Tottenham only to the extent that they have a mole and cannot seem to prevent leaks to the press. The decision to remove JOL was wise and well thought through. What he could do for Wigan might be a different matter but what he proved at Spurs is that he had taken the team as far as he could. Now that might be salvation for Wigan but after ££££££ spent at WHL not good enough!

Jol has just come out and said he would love to come back to Spurs one day - well how about next Sunday in his first game in charge of Wigan!!! Oh the irony would kill me!!! It's a game Spurs just simply have to win but if Jol was in charge and we lost - I'd probably have to have a secret inner smirk!!!! Lol. COYS

Haha that would be awesome if Jol was the new manager - like him a lot. Can't say I'm fond of my fellow Scotsman Souness - despite all he's done, I still don't rate him as a manager.

Latics v Latics - Big Game Preview

The new pitch has been laid, marked and hovered in time for the visit of Oldham Athletic in what could be a very significant League 1 clash.

If results go our way, come 5pm tonight we could find ourselves in second spot in the league table, a position that would set us up nicely for next week's clash with promotion rivals Walsall, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The last time I was thinking like this with full on confidence was prior to the Blackpool game in December, what a
