Wigan - more names in the frame

Scotland and former Rangers manager Alex McLeish and former Manchester City boss Joe Royle are the latest names to be linked with the vacant managers post at Premiership club Wigan Athletic

Royle, previously been linked with the Latics, is available and would love the chance to manage back in the North West and back in the Premiership

Alex McLeish was named in the Daily Mirror as a likely candidate but he has more pressing matters such as the upcoming Scotland Vs Italy Euro Qualifier at Hampden Park next week and it seems his linking is pure speculation

Another name being mentioned is Bristol City boss Garry Johnson though he has no Premiership experience, Johnson is a highly regarded young manager but this seems unlikely

The bookies favourite Graeme Souness today declared himself interested in the job after recently turning down the Rep. of Ireland post and the Bolton managers job.

The Bolton rebuke was because he believed there was no Premiership future for the team based in Horwich, Souness obviously believes the Latics have more potential

It is being reported that Latics and Souness have already got a gentlemans agreement and he could be in the job following Sundays game at Spurs

From all reports it looks as though Souness is a done deal

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO we want Big Eck to stay - hands off our Eck please :p He's done a great job with Scotland. And equally did a great job with Rangers, Hibs and Motherwell. Top bloke too - met him on a couple of occasions. Hehe you'd be lucky if you got him! :)

Haha that's brilliant! I'd probably get used to the weather quickly then - it's always cold up here! I really did like Hutchings - always kept an eye on you guys when he was there. Would you like Pardew there though?

One thing you would get with Pardew would be an organised team who are hard to beat and at the moment we are unorganised and quite easy to beat! He wouldnt be my first choice but then I wouldnt be to disappointed either

He's always my first choice - hmmmm :) He's just the ideal manager for the style of football I like and I love his attitude. Good footballing brain among other things ;) Wigan were doing really well for a bit I thought - shame about Emile though :(
