Chimbonda Suspended for Liverpool

Chimbonda Suspended for Liverpool

Wigan Athletic right-back Pascal Chimbonda will be suspended for the televised game against Liverpool at the JJB Stadium on the 11th of February.

He picked up his 5th yellow card of the season in the game against Bolton Wanderers.

The good news is that he will be back for the Carling Cup final against Manchester United on the 26th. I'd been worried after he picked up the 4th against Everton on Tuesday that he might pick up a 5th against Tottenham Hotspur and miss the final.

The only other 1st team player in danger of missing the final through bookings is Paul Scharner who has 3 so far. He would have to be booked in the next two games to miss the final.

Better to get suspended against Liverpool than miss the final. It wouldn't have been deliberate by any chance?
