Whelan and Bruce Agree

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan told Sky Sports News that he has reached a verbal agreement with Steve Bruce to become the new boss at the JJB and hopes that it can be made official tomorrow (Monday)

This will be great news to the fans who want a quick resolution to the situation and hopefully he will bring the much regarded Eric Black along with him

The Bruce Black combination is highly thought of in football circles and the high profile of both these men will hopefully allow the club to start attracting better quality players

Nice one Dave, should have been done in May though

he'll be desperately urging that ransfer window to come around quickly! Will Whelan support him with sufficient dosh though?

Where are you getting this information from? Why has neither offical site said anything about the situation? If Bruce has been captured by Wigan then why is he not talking? Whelan's the only one making any noises so far. Their has been no talks of a compensation fee so it seems desperatley unlikely that they've agreed anything.

Will Whelan show him the support Sullivan did at Birmingham? Will he get more games than Hutchings did to turn it around?

I find it impossible to belive that Whelan has even had a meeting with Bruce. I say this because I bet you could ask the guy next door to his house if Bruce has come round saying he's selling his house and I bet he has not. What have been the developments over - Firday, Saturday and Sunday theirs been no more developments if nothing concrete is established by Monday evening then we all know that it's just media talk. I'd bet a million Bruce stays with Birmingham if the bookies offerd it.
Simone
Bruce has got a house in Cheshire by the way. Why would Bruce say anything until a contract has been signed? If Brum had refused permission they would have platered it all over the media, as they did with Bolton's approach. Also the meeting with Whelan and Bruce is scheduled for tomorrow.
