Pennant to Wigan?

Steve Bruce is already being linked with players even though he is yet to be officially named Wigan Athletic manager with a Liverpool star high on the rumour list

Latics chairman Dave Whelan stated that Bruce might want to bring a midfielder and forward into the club in January.

The two players that Whelan has been talking about could well be Liverpools Jermaine Pennant, who Bruce managed at Birmingham and current Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome, who Bruce signed from Cardiff last summer

Like all Liverpool players Pennant is in and out of the team with Benitez tinkering and Jerome was upset at Bruces departure and critical of the club for letting the manager go, both these could be realistic targets for the Latics come January 1st.

I hope there is no truth in this rumour as Pennant leaving us will not help in any way whatsoever.

Bruce not arrived yet due to Birmingham coming up with something at the eleventh hour, just before the conference. What's going to happen next?

Holiday? I wish!!! On his day, Pennant is better than any other English right-winger and the only way he's gonna get a place in the England team is by staying with us.

I could actually see this happening. He'd supply some good balls for Heskey I reckon.

Why would Cameron Jerome want to come to Wigan? Don't give me that lame excuse 'because he was signed by Bruce' that's rubbish the whole current Birmingham squad was brought in by Bruce he was their for 6 years. I find it utterly stupid that a guy who's been with us for a year and 6 months would feel any kind of bond with Bruce. Keep dreaming!
