Walsh and Lowe to Derby

Wigan Athletic goalkeeping coach Gary Walsh and Youth Team boss David Lowe are set to leave the club and follow former boss Paul Jewell to Derby County

The pair will leave Wigan tomorrow (Wednesday) and take up similar posts at Pride Park to what they held at the JJB.

To lose David Lowe will be seen by many Latics fans as a disappointment with Lowe being a popular figure around the club
Frank Barlow will stay on and he is being joined on the coaching staff by Birmingham coach Keith Bertchin.

On a side to this new manager Steve Bruce was reported as being very concerned at the level of fitness of the Latics players.

You're not kidding. I was shocked by the fitness comment as well, but I suppose I shouldn't have been. Is there any excuse?
