First half as seen by our Australian reportersprayzen
Halftime wrap would be nothing short but the best half of footy played by Wigan up until the last 2-3 minutes of the half, forwards moving forward, midfielders moving forward, crisp plassing, long balls connecting, clinical finishing add passion and well its a Wigan team we haven't seen since the start of the year
Taylor has been the most influencual player out there, he has dominated whenever he has the ball and we look very very good when he has it
Bent again been strong and Heskey up front was also very strong, Valencia on the flanks always looking dangerous
In defence both Boyce and Bramble have looked abit ordinary at times, Kirkland saved a penalty but then was out of position in the last minute of injury time and didn't even get a touch to the ball to give Blackburn a little bit of hope
In saying that Wigan deserve to go in with a 2 goal lead, really should have been a 3 goal lead but none the less can be very proud of the boys 1st half there, better than what we all expected thats for sure
Best highlights of the half would be the work from Bent to score his goal, Kirklands save and Taylors brilliant bullett free kick finished brilliantly by Scharner.
All in all hopefully the boys can keep the spirit up and not do what the Wigan of old have done and loss any points here today, they deserve a win on the 1st halfs performance alone and hopefully this could break our drought
On the other halftime scores so far around the traps, a win looks vital because Sunderland are leading against Villa, Brum are beating Reading, Spurs are level and Borough are infront against Derby.
As the table stands at halftime we still remain 4pts outside of the relegation zone, hopefully Sunderland and Spurs can lose with Brum, Reading and Borough getting draws would help us out in a good way at least this week if of course we can maintain our lead
