Wigan want Valencia for keeps

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce says that he wants Ecuador international midfield player Antonio Valencia to sign a permanent deal with the club

Valencia is currently on loan from Spanish La Liga side Villarreal and with Racing Santander sniffing around it could well be good business to tie the Ecuadorian up permanently at the JJB

Bruce is a bigger admirer of the wingman and told the Wigan Evening Post 'I will do everything I possibly can to make sure Antonio comes here permanently,'

'I think he is a top player who can go on to play at the highest level if he continues developing.

'I think the kid wants to stay and I will make that perfectly clear when we next meet up with his representative.

'He can be a huge player for us, I really like him.

'He's only 22 and already has played a lot of international football.'

Lets hope you can get him to sign a three year deal Brucie, he is one that we need to keep hold of.

It's amazing how quickly he adapted. Ecuadorian footballers usually find it hard.
