'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bruce points the way for Wigan

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce believes his new side can build on Saturdays win against Blackburn and start to climb the table and get away from the dreaded drop zone

Bruce told the Manchester Evening News` Neil Barker:

"I was naturally delighted we won at the weekend. It got a monkey off our backs after a very long run of games without a win.'

'If we can now go to Fulham and get something there, then I feel it really would turn around our season.

'We are among a pack of around eight clubs fighting and scrapping for points and we've got to build on the good result against Blackburn".

With the trip on Saturday to the Cottage being a massive game for both the Latics and their opponents Fulham a victory for Bruces team will certainly signal a move in the right direction

We could do with another good performance, lets hope its a 90 minute one as well and not just for an hour like the Bolton game
