Wigan are a big-name club

Plymouth Argyles Hungarian midfield player Peter Halmosi says that he would jump at the chance to sign for Wigan Athletic.

Halmosi told Nemzeti Sport:

'Wigan are a big-name club, it would be a great opportunity for me to challenge myself'

'The team is not in a very good position in the Premier League at the moment but it is not a problem for me because I think a couple of won games and the team will be in a better position.

'But of course I am a player of Plymouth where I am appreciated and I like to play here as well.'

For Latics fans this could be good news that the club are finally losing the 'little' tag.

With the transfer market about to open being a 'big name' club should allow the capture of some 'big name' stars.

Heres hoping

hes "smoking" the smell of a big pay-packet,thats what.Weeve suffered many indignities over the years as argyle fans but if it gets to the stage where the likes of p*ssing wigan are seen as "bigger" than us just because they have a rich benefactor then that takes the biscuit.
evansslicedit
evansslicedit its not Latics fans that are saying we are a bigger club than Plymouth (though we are) its not even your player, what he is saying is that we are a BIG name, we are a Prem club and thats what the attraction is. As for rich benefactor dont you believe it. Whelan hasnt made his fortune by giving money away and he doesnt give us any. We are self sustaining at the moment and when we want to buy a player we have to balance the books by selling, now that does take the biscuit
