Wigan Athletic go into this evenings game at Anfield against Liverpool hoping to do something that they haven`t done in twenty attempts, take some points off one of the big four.
With the expected return of Emile Heskey to the firing line there should be a little pressure taken off leading Latics goal scorer Marcus Bent.
The much travelled hitman, Charlton, Everton, Ipswich plus another seven clubs, appears to have finally found his home.
Bent appears to be more settled than ever and this is reflected in his goal scoring attributes this season with seven scored before the turn of the year making him the leading English marksman in the Premiership
Bent, who is currently on loan at the Latics, would like a permanent deal and he says:
'I would be happy to stay - the people on and off the pitch have been very good to me.'
'I have come to Wigan to play in the Premier League, try to score goals, and do well for the club and myself"
"I've got seven goals for Wigan, and eight in all this season counting one I scored for Charlton,'
'Hopefully, I can keep up there in the goalscoring charts with some of the world-class players in there.
'My aim is just to keep working hard. Football might be a glitzy game now and high profile, but you've got to put in the hard graft.'
If Marcus Bent can add to his goal tally this evening then who knows the Latics might just shift one unwanted record and get some points off one of the big boys.
Can we get at least a point tonight, what do you think?
