History as Latics draw at Anfield

History as Latics draw at Anfield

Wigan Athletic finally broke their duck against the big four of English football by taking a point off Liverpool at Anfield tonight.

Following a goalless first half Torres put the reds ahead after 48 mins and they hung onto their lead until Titus Bramble struck in the 80th minute to give the Latics a deserved equaliser

The point that Wigan take back down the East Lancs Road lifts them out of the bottom three courtesy of Sunderland who lost at Blackburn tonight

Bolton needed a last minute goal to beat Derby and remain just three points ahead of the Latics with the revenge game at the JJB on March 15th by which time I expect the Latics to be at least 6 points ahead of our neighbours from Horwich

That`s for the future, tonight is special in the history of Wigan Athletic we have finally come of age and hopefully we can now shake off the little Wigan tag

Dan's Big Game Report - Burton 0 Latics 2

Alright, so despite the hammyteur Twitter meteorologists' predictions, it never did snow in Burton upon Trent today.

But on Friday morning, the Met Office (presumably a wild new joint venture of the Metro newspaper and the Post Office) issued 'yellow warnings' of ice in Staffordshire. From this we can only assume that the county`s dog walkers embarked upon an unprecedented mass figure skating session producing gold medals you certainly don't want in your hands.

Oh, disregard
