Wigan Athletic defender Fitz Hall has joined the Queens Park Rangers revolution that could see him make a swift return to the Premiership and once again perform on the big stage
Hall undoubtedly talented but failed to over come niggling injuries to put in consistent performances in his time at the Latics making just 28 appearances in an eighteen month spell at the JJB
QPR are on the verge of exciting times and Hall will see it as a great challenge to be able to be a part of this and coupled with a return to London you can see why 'One Size` as jumped at the chance to sign a four and half year deal with the Loftus Road club
Wigan paid over £3 million for Hall and have recouped less than half of that fee by accepting a reported bid of just over £1 million
Now that Hall has gone Bruce will be allowed to bring someone into the JJB, this is known in academic circles as 'Whelan Law`, for every in coming action there first needs to be an outgoing action and an equal amount to keep parity.
There have been many names mentioned and mooted about as possible first signings for the Latics under Steve Bruce and we seem to have been linked to everybody in recent weeks
Damien Johnson the Birmingham City captain and midfield player was strongly linked but that looks like it`s a dead end with Johnson undergoing skull surgery due to an injury he picked up
It is also understood that the club are close to signing Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios who Bruce signed when he was manager of Birmingham, though there are issues over work permits making this a complicated deal
The club needs a left back
Its well noted that the club needs, no is desperate for, a left back, Kevin Kilbane has manly filled in this position for half a season but specialist is whats required and this could be the area that sees the first signing.
Previous manager Chris Hutchings came unstuck by leaving it too late in his attempts to bring a left back to the club I am sure that Bruce wont make the same mistake
Maynor Figueroa remains on trial with the Latics with Bruce still running the rule over him whilst there are strong rumours linking Latics with a move for Olympiakos left back Didier Domi.
Domi started his career with French club PSG but he has Premiership experience having played at both Newcastle and Leeds he has also had a spell with Espanyol in Spain.
Domi would be available for about £1 million ironically the same amount that Latics have received from QPR for the transfer of Fitz Hall and therefore allowing 'Whelan Law` to be observed.
