Palacios in at Wigan Official

Wilson Palacios the Honduras international midfield star has been officially unveiled as a Wigan Athletic player and he is in the squad for the game at Derby tomorrow.

The 23-year-old was signed from his club Deportivo Olimpia for a fee believed to be around the 1 million mark on a three and a half year deal and he has been given the number 5 shirt that Fitz Hall vacated earlier last week

Palacios recently finished a three month loan spell at Birmingham City in December where he worked with Latics boss Steve Bruce

'I am really happy to sign for Wigan,' Palacios told the official website.

'I like Steve as a manager and I think it is an ambitious club that is going places.

'I can't wait to get started now. When the loan finished at Birmingham, Wigan were the first to come in and make me an offer and now I want to focus everything on doing my best here.'
