Wigan say no in Scharner transfer

Vital Wigan are led to believe that Wigan Athletic have rejected Fulhams bid of 3 million for Austrian defender Paul Scharner completely

Steve Bruce looks to build a team that can compete in the Premiership and Scharner appears to be very much part of this with Bruce raving about some of the big Austrians performances of late

Scharner still has 18 months left on his Latics contract and Bruce will want to tie him down for 2 more years after this deal expires

Fulham have been told that there is no way Latics will do business on Scharner and to forget coming back with any improved offers

Paul Scharner has been a different player since Bruce moved him back to centre half and he is one that Latics need to keep hold of
