Wilson Palacios Man of the Match

The voters on the last poll on Vital Wigan decided to award Latics Honduras midfield wonder Winston Palacios the Man of Match gong for his performance against West Ham last Saturday

Palacios had a superb game in the centre of Latics midfield and his all action style is starting to endear him to the Latics faithful

There were some other big performers, Paul Scharner was solid at centre back, Antonio Valencia very good out wide right and Chris Kirkland had a good game between the sticks

What the poll asked - Latics Man of the Match Vs West Ham

How you voted - Wilson Palacios 44%, Paul Scharner 30%, Chris Kirkland 15%

Current Poll - Saturday brings a massive game in Latics season with a trip up the A1 and a visit to Sunderland for a real six-pointer

Its only three weeks since the Latics went to the Stadium of Light in the FA Cup and trounced Sunderland 3-0 but this weekends game will be a totally different affair.

For a start both teams will really want to win this one and they should be fired up to do so, a cracking game could be in store.

Latics will want to take points off Sunderland to keep them below us in the league but I think this one will be a tough one to call, so - 'Who will win on Saturday?`

Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.

The poll can be accessed on the right side of this page

I think we will just snatch it 1-0, or 2-1

Saw him in the Cup game vs Chelsea and although he didn't have the best of games, he did shine through at times. Stick It To Sunderland on Saturday, lads!!
