Wigan Athletic go into tonights match looking to get back to winning ways by achieving their first victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.
It will be Latics first game since the sale of Emile Heskey to Aston Villa and Wilson Palacios who joined Spurs last week.
The signing of Egypt striker Mido from Middlesbrough has eased the departure of Heskey and the former Spurs, Roma and Zamalek striker should find himself starting alongside his compatriot Amr Zaki tonight.
Wilson Palacios is going to be missed though young prospect Ben Watson signed from Crystal Palace on Monday should find a place on the bench Michael Brown is likely to replace the Honduran in Latics engine room
Liverpool have made a good start to the season and led the table up until recently but all may not be well with the Anfield club, Rafa Benitez`s future is still in doubt and there are behind the scenes rumblings with the American owners trying to sell
Robbie Keane has been an expensive flop and Fernando Torres is still on the mend following his lengthy lay-off but Liverpool will still undoubtedly be stiff opposition as the Latics focus on catching 6th placed Everton in the table
Latics boss Steve Bruce:
'Liverpool are very strong defensively and, with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, they have exceptional players.
'It will be interesting to see if they can last the pace with Manchester but they are making a right good fist of it.
'But when Liverpool come to town it is always a great occasion against one of the giants of the game and we are looking forward to it.'
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez:
'People are talking too much about Keane. It was just one decision about one player, he wasn't in the squad.
'He had a day off on Sunday like the rest of the players who were not involved in the game. He trained on Monday, he trained today and he will be in the squad at Wigan.
'It is nothing to do with whether he talked to me about the situation. Every player has trained very hard this week, as has Robbie, and he will be in the squad.
'He will be in the squad and if he can score goals then I will be happy.'
Ben Watson is struggling wiith a calf strain and Hugo Rodallega is still waiting international clearance
