Tonight should see the introduction of new signing Jason Scotland and Latics fans could also get a look at hot prospect James McCarthy who joined last week from SPL side Hamilton Academicals, one thing for sure is that supporters will get a look at the new away kit which will be worn for the first time this evening.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

'Austria is finished and it has been a fantastic fitness exercise for us - but the real work starts now.

'The hard work starts again on Monday and having said all week that results don't matter, from now on, they do, starting on Tuesday at Preston.'

PNE player Richard Chaplow:

'Wigan have done fantastically well for the last couple of years in the Premier League, and they've got some big players.

'Obviously everybody will be battling for the shirt with the new manager coming in, and if Roberto Martinez' style of play is anything like it was at Swansea, they'll be getting the ball down and playing some nice football. Swansea were a good team last year, so we're expecting a similar test from Wigan.'

Stephen Elliot expected to feature for Preston

It will be strange to see PNE without McKenna in the side

Jason Scotland and James McCarthy should both feature at some point tonight, Olivier Kapo wont, he has a knee ligament injury
