Arsenal Vs Latics Preview

Roberto Martinez takes his Latics side to the Emirates Stadium today with the promise of going there to win.

Following on from last weeks performance and three points against West Ham the Latics boss wants his side to carry on in the same vein and he appears to be full of confidence as he now has a full squad of players to choose from with Olivier Kapo returning from injury.

Arsenal didn`t look comfortable in midweek and they appeared very disjointed, maybe Martinez sees a chink that he can exploit and a good game is in prospect

What The Bosses Say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

'We will go there and play the way we have to play and if we can do that for 90 minutes I will be pleased. I'm sure we can get many good things out of it.

'The worst thing you can do is go in there with a negative approach. It is only a matter of time before you get punished.

'We are not going to go anywhere looking for damage limitation. If we have to lose, we lose but we will learn from it and make sure we use in the next game to get points elsewhere.

'Arsenal have huge quality. We will have to be focused off the ball because if there is a lapse in concentration they will punish us'

'Throughout the squad, from Cesc Fabregas to Andrei Arshavin, if he's fit, to Robin van Persie - they have world-class players but it is very dangerous to single out one individual.

'No-one expects us to get anything out of these games but what is quite clear is that Wigan will go into any game trying to win.

'We will face Arsenal with a positive attitude and determination to win the game.'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:

'It is very important for us to be strong at the Emirates'

'The circumstance is that we have played four games but three away in three difficult places for everybody else.

'The Emirates will be the decider for us as to how strong we fight for the championship.'

Arsenal Team News:

Van Persie should be fit to return, definitely out are:

Almunia, Djourou, Fabianski, Arshavin, Nasri, Walcott, Vela

Player to watch: Robin Van Persie

The Arsenal skipper should return for todays fixture and bring in to the attack some quality that was missing on Wednesday

Wigan Athletic Team News:

Latics have a full squad available for selecrion:

Latics from:

Kirkland, Edman, Melchiot, Bramble, Boyce, Scharner, N'Zogbia, Gomez, Koumas, Rodallega, Scotland, Cho, Thomas, Figueroa, King, DeRidder, Pollitt, Amaya, McCarthy, Sinclair, Diame, Kapo

I fancy a draw here today

I really hope for a draw. Fancy an Arsenal victory - I don't believe it will be an embarrassing scoreline though.

Even if it is an embarrasing scoreline, it will be like the man utd game. We will hold our own until eventually... Well, we all know what happened.
