Wigan Athletic travel to Boundary Park tonight to face Oldham Athletic in their second preseason friendly this summer following on from last weekends 3-2 win over Ostersunds in Sweden.
The Latics (Wigan) are expecting a large away following with new signing Argentina striker Mauro Bosseli set to make an appearance and new goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi also set to start, the team will also play in their new 2010/11 home kit giving supporters a chance to see it up close and personal.
Oldham have a new man in charge, former Manchester City striker Paul Dickov took over the hot seat at Boundary Park in June and he has registered himself as a player in his first venture into management, just in case.
Also in the Oldham ranks is an old adversary in Sean Gregan who had a few battles with the Latics down the years whilst he was at Preston, even though he is now 36 he still has plenty appetite for the game and a tough encounter from the old war horse is to be expected.
He'll be after a few scalps no doubt
Although preseason games are designed to get the fitness levels of the players fine tuned in time for the big kick-off winning is still a good habit for any team to get into and Latics boss Roberto Martinez will no doubt be keen to continue the winning ways.
With Titus Bramble, Gary Caldwell, Maynor Figueroa and Antolin Alcaraz set to miss the game through injury or resting following their world cup exploits the defence will have an unfamiliar look about it.
Steve Gohouri, who is back in training should start at centre back with Antonio Amaya alongside, Emerson Boyce will more than likely take the departed Mario Melchiot`s place at right back but there is a question over who will start at left back.
With just Hendry Thomas still away on holiday the only body missing from the midfield it will be as you were from last season with Momo Diame, James McCarthy and Ben Watson likely to fill those places.
The front three should see Boselli start with two from Charles N`Zogbia, Hugo Rodallega and Victor Moses keeping him company.
Hopefully he is the real deal
